Launch the Desktop App

Extract the downloaded ZIP file and double-click Get3DCapture.exe to start the application. Sign in to your account.

Getting Started:

Click "Start Capture" to launch the browser viewer.

Windows SmartScreen Note

As a new portable application, Windows might prompt a "Windows protected your PC" message. Click More info and then Run anyway.

Explore and Capture

Find your project location. Rotate around your target area using the middle mouse button to load high-resolution textures. Press F12 when ready.

"Ensure you rotate around your target building at least once. This 'locks in' the textures for the facades, ensuring a perfect export."

Export & Use

Back in the desktop app, simply choose to export your capture. The app will generate OBJ and GLB files which you can import into your target 3D application.

Does this require Google Earth Pro?
No, Get3DCapture works by intercepting the 3D data cache from the Google Earth through the browser. Just make sure you have google Chrome installed in your computer.
What Rhino and SketchUp versions are supported?
Get3DCapture works natively with Rhinoceros 7 and the latest Rhinoceros 8 for both Windows. SketchUp 2024, 2025 and 2026 for Windows. Please follow the tutorial to ensure correct functionality.
Is the geometry scale accurate?
The geometry is imported as captured from Google Earth. You may need to manually adjust the scale to match your project units (meters, feet, etc.) for architectural precision.
Can I cancel my plan?

How often can I capture?
With the Free plan, you get 1 capture per day. The Monthly and Lifetime plans offer unlimited captures for all your project needs.

Yes — if you experience difficulties capturing a complex or problematic location, we can assist by generating the capture for you. This concierge support is included for active subscribers. Lifetime license holders may receive limited concierge support. The service is intended for occasional cases under a fair-use policy. Files are typically delivered within 24–48 hours.

For better quality, zoom out in the browser (up to around 25%). Lower zoom levels generally produce higher quality captures, but may increase import time or system load.
